Boss asks for fans' backing

Posted on: Fri 19 Oct 2007

United boss Bryan Robson is urging the fans to get right behind the team as the Blades try to reignite their season against Preston North End at Bramall Lane.

Robson feels the fans have a crucial role to play and insists their full backing can drive the players on.

He said: "It is important the fans back the players, like they have done to date. We must make Bramall Lane a fortress and then drastically improve our away form.

"We must learn from mistakes and work hard in training to correct these. We can't do anything about the past, but we can influence what happens in the future."

The Gaffer is also of the opinion that the next month will have a major bearing on the Blades fortunes this campaign.

He ended: "I have looked at the next month and we play a lot of teams around us, so it's crucial we pick up plenty of points to get to where we want in the table."
