Blades v Preston - team news

Posted on: Fri 19 Oct 2007

Blades boss Bryan Robson has fitness concerns over three of his squad, whilst midfielder Nick Montgomery (pleurisy) looks almost certain to miss out.

Lee Hendrie and Keith Gillespie are struggling for match fitness following niggling injuries, whilst defender Gary Naysmith is facing a race against time to be fit following a hamstring strain.

Robson said: "We have to assess the players' fitness and see how things pan out. Keith has looked strong in training after not travelling on international duty this week, so we are hopeful.

"Nick Montgomery is well short at the moment and needs more football-based training, before we put him in the game situation."

Meanwhile, new loan signing Phil Bardsley will make his Blades debut at right-back after checking in from Manchester United this week.

Robson confirmed: "Phil will make his debut at right-back, he is specialised in that position and has experience at the top level."
