Beware the Hornet King

Posted on: Fri 17 Aug 2007

Bryan Robson has pinpointed Watford's number nine Marlon King as the danger man for United at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

The Gaffer says that King, regarded by Hornets fans as the 'King of Vicarage Road', is the one that the Blades should watch out for.

He said: "It goes without saying that King is a decent forward. He has a good goal record and leads the line well."

King, who lists Barnet, Gillingham, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United as his former clubs, netted 22 goals from 44 appearances in the 2005-06 campaign.

He missed a large chunk of last term with a serious knee injury but still managed four goals in 13 games.

The 6ft 1in forward scored a last-gasp, coolly-taken penalty as Watford sneaked a 2-1 victory at Wolves on the opening day of the Coca-Cola Championship last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Robson is fully expecting a physical battle at Vicarage Road this weekend.

He continued: "Watford are a big, strong team and have a bit of pace about them - we'll have to be at our best to get a result there.

"They've kept a lot of their players from the Premiership."

Robson added: "They do play a direct game so you know what to expect. We'll have to be strong defensively, but we have the forwards who can score a goal if we create chances."
