Revenge mission

Posted on: Fri 10 Feb 2012

Richard Cresswell is confident the Blades can avenge the defeat at Adams Park when Wycombe Wanderers provide the opposition at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The Blades failed to take their chances when the two sides met in September, but the experienced marksman says United a different proposition now and have proved that in recent weeks when putting the likes of Yeovil and Bury to the sword:

"We are a different team from earlier in the season; we are together more and have been getting into the habit of taking our chances and finishing teams off.

"We move the ball well and get the ball into the box earlier from wide areas, we have consistently done that in recent weeks and it has paid off."

Preparations for Saturday League One clash have been hampered by the current cold snap that is gripping the country, but Cresswell is happy United have managed to cope with the inclement weather and is hoping for a much needed win before Tuesday's Valentines Day clash at Huddersfield Town:

"The facilities here are excellent; we have the indoor pitch at the Academy and also Bramall Lane with the undersoil heating, so we have managed to prepare pretty well for Wycombe.

"We have some big games coming up this month and that is what you want as a professional footballer. I am sure we have enough ability to get the results we want.

"Every game is one we look forward to, starting on Saturday and three points is exactly what we need to get us going again."
