Glad to be back

Posted on: Tue 10 Aug 2010

Kyle Bartley has described his return to Sheffield United as the 'perfect move'.

Bartley's protracted season-long loan switch from Arsenal was rubber stamped on Tuesday and the versatile defender admits this was always his preferred destination as he looks for more first-team football:

"I am delighted to be back and am glad it is all sorted. I was more than happy to come back here because I really loved my time last season.

"It was a totally new experience from what I was used to and I can't wait for another taste of the action at Bramall Lane. Arsenal wanted me to come out and get some experience and that was always going to be my aim this season.

"I know what the Gaffer and Sam are about, all the lads are great and being a northern lad means this is the perfect move."

The deal was delayed because of a shoulder injury, but the 19-year-old insists he is now fully fit and raring to go:

"I broke my collarbone before pre-season started, but managed to do all the fitness work and extra running. Since then I have played in three friendlies so I hope to hit the ground running when the Gaffer selects me."
