Ched raring to go

Posted on: Thu 05 Aug 2010

Ched Evans is chomping at the bit to ensure that his second season at the Lane eclipses his first.

The former Manchester City youngster endured a mixed campaign which was often marred by injury but he showed signs at the end of it that he was getting back to his best:

"Although I settled in well at the club and with the players it wasn't a good one for me in terms of what I achieved.

"I had been at City for years and was pretty comfortable with the place and the routines, then coming here I found things were very different which took some getting used to.

"But I am used to it now, have an apartment in Sheffield and am looking for a house - and a dog to take for walks!"

Despite the absence of the injured Darius Henderson there is much to be done to secure a starting berth as Ched competes with Richard Cresswell, Daniel Bogdanovic and Jamie Ward but thankfully he is fit and in strong contention:

"The Gaffer hasn't given any clues as to what his team will be but I will train hard and hope, like everyone else, that I will be picked."
