Leon Britton is looking forward to Sunday's prestigious friendly against Estudiantes after completing just over an hour at Notts County on Tuesday night.
The summer recruit from Swansea was pleased with his performance at Meadow Lane after starting his first game in Blades colours and felt the scoreline didn't paint a true picture of the game.
Despite that, the elegant midfielder was keen to draw the positives from the 1-0 victory, one of which was him playing in a more advanced role off lone striker Richard Cresswell:
"I am delighted to have started the game after missing out on some of the action previously because of my hamstring injury.
"At Swansea I was used to be playing 4-3-3, but I like to think that I am adaptable and that I can play in other formations, like the one we played at Nottingham and also 4-4-2.
"In the last couple of seasons I have sat deeper, but adding goals to my game is something I am working hard on and playing off Cressy allowed me to work in and around the box.
"We could have won by four or five goals but their keeper pulled off some great saves. It was a good workout for the lads and the way we played was really pleasing."
The imminent friendly against Estudiantes will be Britton's first taste of action at Bramall Lane as a Blade and he admits the game has plenty of significance, before focus switches to the season opener at Cardiff:
"It is a big game for the club and one everyone is looking forward to. Obviously they have Juan Sebastian Veron as their captain and although we don't who is coming I am sure their team will be a talented group of players.
"It is going to be a great test for us against something different to what we will come up against in the Championship, which can only benefit the lads."
