Top man, Cressy

Posted on: Tue 04 May 2010

Leading scorer Richard Cresswell was glad to end the season in style at Portman Road on Sunday and says the result must act as a marker for next season.

Cresswell was again on the scoresheet, scoring the third in the 3-0 romp and has ended the season with fourteen league and cup strikes to his name since arriving, originally on loan, from Stoke City in the Autumn.

After registering his best tally for many years the experienced marksman knows United can now head off for their summer break focusing on the positives, after a testing campaign.

The former Potter is also keen to see the Blades replicate the kind of performance they produced in Suffolk on a regular basis next term, especially on the road:

"Those games don't come around too often so when they it is really enjoyable. We played some fantastic football in the second-half and after they had a man sent off we moved the ball really quickly."

"We've set our standards now and hopefully we can keep things together in the summer and move on into next season in confident mood."

"Our away form is what has let us down, because we have been right up there at home. This win shows what we are capable of when everyone pulls in the same direction."
