Paul Connolly says his Blades debut couldn't have gone any better.
The full-back joined United on an emergency loan at the 11th hour, was thrown straight into the side against Blackpool and was grateful to everybody who contributed to his dream start at the Lane:
"It has been a busy couple of days. I was sitting at home with my girlfriend on Monday night, thinking that I would be training on the Tuesday.
"Then I got a phone call from my agent late on saying I should get to bed because I would be playing on Tuesday night, so I drank plenty of water and got my head down.
"Obviously the scoreline tells its own story but I thought we were magnificent. From my own point-of-view it was a long day, but in the second half the lads got me through it until the Gaffer took me off.
"The crowd were great, we won and recorded a clean sheet so I can't ask for anymore. I am here to help the club out, really, and with so many injuries at the club at the moment I am happy to be here and able to help."
Connolly comes to South Yorkshire with a wealth of Championship experience and he is relishing his stay with United:
"I have been on the sidelines at Derby for one reason or another, but this spell gives me the chance to help the Gaffer out and get some games under my belt.
"I know Marcel (Seip) and Jordan (Stewart) and over the years I have probably played against all the lads, it is a great dressing room to walk into."
