Gunner is settling in

Posted on: Tue 16 Feb 2010

Kyle Bartley seems to have settled into life at the Lane with the ease of a seasoned professional but says two people in particular have been a big help.

Bartley has started both games for the Blades since joining on-loan from Arsenal and despite facing Jon Parkin at Preston and Chris Iwelumo and Patrick Agyemang at the weekend he says he was ready for the physical challenge.

After making his Gunners debut in the Champions League earlier this season nothing appears to faze the Manchester-born defender, but he is extremely grateful for the support he has received in his first week with United:

"I have settled really well and the lads have helped make things easy for me. It is a massive help playing alongside someone with Nyron's experience, he talks to me before, during and after the game and he is a great character to be around.

"Morgs talks to me all the time too and tries to pass on some advice about the opposition, in particular their strikers. The skipper is really experienced so it is important that I listen and learn from somebody like him."

Bartley, 18, adds: "I am a natural leader and I have always been pretty vocal on the pitch. Being the captain at Arsenal for the reserves has certainly helped and I am not afraid of making myself heard.

"I came here to further my development and playing alongside the likes of Morgs and Nyron is only going benefit me in the future."
