United's newest loan signing Richard Cresswell was delighted to open his Blades account at the weekend and is predicting a bright season for Kevin Blackwell's men.
Cresswell was 'Johnny on the spot' in converting Glen Little's pinpoint centre to earn United a point against Doncaster, but the versatile forward felt the Blades should have claimed all three:
"It was nice to make my full debut and I thought it was a really entertaining game, which we should have won.
"Getting the goal was good and more importantly getting ninety minutes under my belt was crucial.
"As soon as 'Sully' tipped the ball on there was only one place the ball was going and I will take the bang in my back off the post any day.
"We were disappointed as a team not to keep a clean sheet, but when we cut out those silly mistakes we will do really well this season."
The Bridlington born forward is also happy to be back in his home county and is confident he can turn the heads of a few doubters on the terraces.
Cresswell is also no stranger to playing on the left and believes it is a position he has mastered at this level over recent years:
"You take what comes as a footballer, but it was great to be involved and give the supporters something to cheer.
"The crowd was excellent; obviously I got a bit of a mixed reception against Ipswich but that is one of those things and hopefully that goal showed what I am about and how much I want to succeed here.
"Some people probably don't realise that I played on the left for Stoke when they got promoted to the Premiership and got a number of goals from that position, too.
"My striking instincts take me into the box and hopefully I can continue to get on the end of crosses.
"I know a lot of the lads, having grown up in Yorkshire. I have settled in easily and am looking forward to getting to know some of the others a bit more during the break."
