David Cotterill is setting himself ambitious but realistic targets for the new season.
The Welsh winger, who is currently in Hungary as part of United's pre-season training camp, is hoping to hold down a regular place and contribute to another promotion push.
He told sufc.co.uk: "My main aim is to cement the right wing slot. It took until Christmas to get going last season and that was too long - I really need to be flying from the first day to help the boys.
"I've set myself a couple of targets - they are high but you have got to be positive. I want to chip in with as many goals as possible, I'd love to get into double figures and if I can get to 15 assists for the season I will be happy."
Cotterill, who took over penalty taking duties following the sale of James Beattie, insists he is now fully fit, despite finishing last season with an injury problem.
He adds: "For the last few games I had a bit of a niggling groin, which finally forced me off in the play-off final.
"I missed an international game for Wales straight after that but all I needed was to rest it and fortunately I've come back for pre-season in decent shape.
"The Gaffer has brought in a few wingers, a couple on trial, and competition for places now is very tough, but good. You need to push yourself and because if you are too comfortable you go backwards. With Glen (Little) and the other lads here it can only help."
