Ched's waiting game

Posted on: Mon 09 Aug 2010

Ched Evans - one of three Unitedites to be called up for international duty this week - is hoping to shake off an injury to be part of the Welsh squad.

The Welshman opened the scoring for the Blades in the Welsh capital on Sunday, in front of international boss John Toshack.

However, he had to be replaced midway through the second period in the 1-1 draw with Cardiff City.

Ched said: "We were under the cosh a bit in the second half and I picked up an injury which didn't help, but it was a great point in the circumstances.

"I am linking up with the Welsh squad to get the injury assessed by the physios and we will see what happens."

Wales face Luxumbourg in a friendly in Llanelli on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Daniel Bogdanovic is in the Malta squad to face Macedonia this week, whilst reserve goalkeeper Mihkel Aksalu is part of Estonia's plans for their fixture with the Faroe Islands.
