Morgan's muscle damage

Posted on: Thu 04 Feb 2010

Chris Morgan will be out for a minimum of three weeks after it was confirmed that he has torn a muscle in his ribs.

A scan on Wednesday confirmed the damage, although more tests are scheduled when the swelling and bruising subsides.

Kevin Blackwell confirmed on Thursday: "He has a torn intercostal muscle, which is between the ribs. The tear is about 5cms and we are looking at between three and five weeks before he is back.

"It is a massive blow, especially as we have lost both Kilgallon and Walker in the last few weeks. 'Morgs' is a leader, he's a vocal captain and an organiser on the pitch.

"He will go for a MRI scan on Friday, which will give us more detail as to the damage around the ribs and hip. But losing him for the Derby game and the next week is a massive loss to us."
