Lets show everybody that Sheffield United are 'coming again', is the defiant message from Chris Morgan on the eve of United's Championship opener, in front of the live Sky cameras at Middlesbrough.
The skipper says the Blades are fully focused on the job in hand and believes their opponents on Friday night have several minor obstacles to overcome before proving they have what it takes to make an instant return to the top-flight:
"We know what to expect, but for the clubs coming down from the Premiership it is about how they react and adapt.
"WBA are similar to Birmingham having been up and down and that's not being disrespectful, but it will be more interesting to see how Middlesbrough and Newcastle do early on.
"The lads will stick to our gameplan and we know we can't let them settle because they have good players who will want to get the ball down and play.
"Home crowds can get restless if things don't go right and we know what football is like. Colchester came here and frustrated us on the opening day a couple of years ago.
"Starting first is a great opportunity to get a positive result and let everybody know that Sheffield United are coming again!"
Despite trying not to heap the pressure on any individuals, Morgan feels one person in particular may have a vital role to play towards the Blades chances of promotion:
"I believe Darius Henderson could get the goals if we keep him fit and get him the right service.
"Towards the end of last season he was playing for the good of the team and we were having to patch him up just to get through matches."
"The medical team have looked after him over the summer and I am sure whoever plays alongside him will feed off him and do really well."
