Sheffield United striker Jamie Ward has received his first senior call-up into Nigel Worthington's Northern Ireland squad.

Ward, who joined the Blades from Chesterfield in January, is included in Worthington's plans for the forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Poland and Slovenia at Windsor Park.

The pacey striker who is edging ever closer to his first start for Kevin Blackwell's outfit has already made a notable impact during his short-time at the Lane - scoring a crucial last-minute winner against Southampton at St Mary's in February.
