Kevin Blackwell was bristling with pride after watching Kyle Naughton make his international debut midweek.

"He slotted in very well and looked a class act, which is difficult to do in International football when you join the action during the game.

"I don't see any reason why he can't possibly go on to win further caps at U21, or even full level eventually - he's used to playing for a big club, in front of big crowds and knows how to handle it.

"Hopefully, this is only the start of a big learning curve and a great career at the top level for both club and country."

Blackwell acknowledges that the player has aroused significant interest within the game and will inevitably be linked with Premiership clubs:

"As with any player, if we received an offer it would be analysed but at the moment there is no rush to sell Kyle - we want him to fulfil his dreams with United."
