Memorable video footage showing one of Sheffield United's most victorious moments was shown during 40th anniversary celebrations of the match.
Four decades ago, on 1st May 1971, 38,000 fans watched the Blades triumph 3-0 over Watford to gain promotion to the top division in English football.
Some of the members of the winning United team came together again for an anniversary evening to fondly remember the momentous match.
Tony Currie, Len Badger, Ted Hemsley, John Hope, Graeme Crawford and Eddie Colquhoun were among the special guests at the champagne reception, which included a special viewing of the silent grainy-coloured footage shot by a fan from the upper tier of a Bramall Lane stand.
Fans were also treated to a humorous speech from Ted Hemsley, a question and answer session led by club media manager Andy Pack and an autograph signing session.
John Garrett, historian and archive manager at Sheffield United, said: "The 1971 Anniversary Evening was a must for all Blades fans. During the meal, a vintage film was show to a delighted audience followed by the unseen footage of the Watford game from 1971. The fans in the room were fascinated and fully engrossed in the film which proved to be a great opportunity to see all three memorable goals that secured United's victory."
Lane legend Bill Dearden added: "More than 300 people attended the event to reminisce about a match from 40 years ago. I'm privileged that fans still feel so much for the Blades. Sheffield United is a very special club and the fans are the best."
