Estudiantes come to the Lane on Sunday to play the Blades, and manager and ex Blade Alex Sabella today recalls what he can of his former team-mates and our fans...
"I was very lucky because I played well, the manager who signed me liked me and I believe I was one of the best players in the team. The fans seemed to love me because of my performances and that used to make me very confident.
"I felt more comfortable because of how the fans treated me in Sheffield but a player has to show why the team wanted to sign him which I tried to do. In all I was made very welcome by the fans and the team-mates.
"I can remember Steve Conroy, John Cutbush, John MacPhail, Tony Kenworthy, Paul Garner, Mick Speight the captain, Cliff Calvert, John Matthews, Steve Finneston and Simon Stainrod who I saw two years ago.
"Apologies if I forgot any names, it was a long time ago but they were all great with me. Their behaviour was excellent and I was made to feel part of the team and the club.
"Everyone should treat people with respect and Blades supporters showed a lot of love towards me for which I was very thankful. I don't know about now but back then the fans were great - the players have their own personal lives but the fans didn't interfere with that."
