Woodhouse gains revenge

Posted on: Mon 01 Mar 2010

Blades boxing fans had their weekend complete when Curtis Woodhouse avenged his only loss so far on Sunday with a comprehensive win.

The former United midfielder clocked up his 12th win by stopping the Isle of Wight's Jay Morris in the third round at the Magna, Rotherham, which won him the light-welterweight International Masters title.

Woodhouse, who recently joined Sheffield FC, had been controversially beaten on points by Morris last April and came into the ring clearly intent on revenge and said afterwards:

"I'm absolutely delighted. To stop him is fantastic - I'm proud as punch."
