Ex Blade makes switch

Posted on: Mon 08 Jun 2009

Former Blades defender Dominic Roma has made a close-season move in non-league football, leaving Hinckley Town where he has been since being released by the Blades in 2007.

Locally born Roma came through the ranks at the Lane to become a regular performer in United Reserves and represented England at youth, U18 and U19 level.

After 93 appearances and four goals for Hinckley he has switched to Blue Square North rivals Alfreton Town for an undisclosed fee, a move that satisfies his wishes for a club closer to home and his Academy coaching job at Sheffield Wednesday.
