Fighting talk

Posted on: Mon 05 Jan 2009

After recently taking over the hotseat at Mansfield Town, former Blades skipper David Holdsworth has made his first signing at Field Mill - another ex-Blade.

Holdsworth has recruited Rushden & Diamonds midfielder Curtis Woodhouse until the end of the season, when the professional boxer will hang up his boots for good.

The duo will hoping to lift the Stags away from the lower reaches of the Blue Square Premier and they certainly know each other well having played together previously for the Blades and Birmingham City.

On his move Woodhouse said: "We're at the wrong end of the table but if Mansfield want someone to fight - they've brought in the right man."
