Consultant Carly Barnes, working on behalf of the Blades, is currently in Argentina putting the final touches to Sunday's friendly and a relationship between the clubs.
Here's the second part of her blog from South America...
"This week hopefully marks the beginning of something exciting for Blades fans - the possibility of a long-term relationship between Sheffield United and Estudiantes that, if successful, can only benefit both clubs in the future. 'The doors are now open' were the words from Estudiantes' club lawyer, Leonardo de Marco, and director, Horacio Foccacia.
"Our latest outing began with a visit to Buenos Aires to visit a top football agency to learn a little more about how transfers work over here. Then it was off to a meeting with the President at Estudiantes' grand headquarters in the centre of La Plata. After an exchange of shirts we discussed CEO Trevor Birch's proposal for a new relationship between the clubs. International Director, Sergio Neveleff, stated that he felt like Columbus in Argentinean football, trying to achieve something new and exciting.
"We run through the final preparations of the match and liaise with United's Operations Director, Simon Argall, back in the UK. Simon and his team are doing an absolutely fantastic job putting everything together for the visit and match.
"This is a match that has not been easy to put together but, as reigning South American champions and with Alex Sabella currently at the Estudiantes helm, the timing has to be now to celebrate Sabella's achievements and to welcome his team to Bramall Lane.
"For Estudiantes, they have had the World Cup - captain Juan Sebastian Veron and defender Clemente Rodriguez were in South Africa - to contend with so the timing for the Blades match has not been easy, especially with both teams having competitive fixtures very soon."
Sabella, currently putting the final selections to his travelling team, said: "I am looking forward to meeting the players who have been selected to make the journey - and can't help but wonder if the next Messi will be playing against SUFC at Bramall Lane on Sunday."
