Kyle Bartley has returned to Bramall Lane to further stiffen United's rearguard.
Less than 24 hours after securing the signature of Stephen Jordan, United have completed the capture of Arsenal's Bartley on a season-long loan.
The teenage defender, reserve team captain at the Emirates, made an impact during his loan spell last season. He chalked up 14 appearances and impressed boss Kevin Blackwell with his maturity and coolness under pressure.
Boss Blackwell said: "I think this is a great move for both Kyle and the Sheffield United and I am delighted to bring in effectively a new player but one who knows how we operate and is comfortable at the club.
"We saw last season that Kyle is a young player with great potential and the association was of great benefit to both of us, it is very gratifying that he has made public how much he enjoys being with the Blades and that Arsenal trust us to look after him while he is with us.
"Getting him for a year means he can really concentrate on what we want from him and along with the signings of Jordan and Nosworthy it gives us real stability at the back."
Following of summer of negotiations, Blackwell has now a sizeable chunk of last season's squad at his disposal. Chris Morgan, Nick Montgomery, Richard Cresswell and Stephen Quinn have all signed long-term deals, whilst the club now also have the services of Nyron Nosworthy and Bartley for the 2010-11 campaign.
Bartley's registration has been lodged in time for him to be eligible in Wednesday night's Carling Cup first round tie at Hartlepool United.
