Blades land Jordan

Posted on: Mon 09 Aug 2010

The Blades have stiffened their defensive options with the completion of the signing of Stephen Jordan on a one year contract.

The 28 year old, who left Burnley in the summer after three years at Turf Moor, passed his medical over the weekend to complete the formalities.

Cheshire born, Jordan was nurtured from within the Manchester City youth development system, initially making his league debut whilst on loan at Cambridge United.

He went on to make 73 Premiership starts for City before signing for The Clarets in July 2007. Jordan spent part of this summer on tour in the USA with Portsmouth but Kevin Blackwell has secured his signature as one of the three defensive recruits he feels will complete a strong squad that is equipped to challenge.
