Committed to the cause +freePlayer

Nyron Nosworthy is hoping to see Bramall Lane full when the season kicks off next month.

You can watch a short clip of Nyron to the right for free. He was speaking immediately after committing to United, and BladesPlayer subscribers can catch the full interview, together with the thoughts of Kevin Blackwell and Trevor Birch.

The powerful defender, who played 19 games in a loan deal at the end of last term, agreed a season-long loan deal from Sunderland on Wednesday and was quick to point out the reasons why he has returned.

"There are many positive factors why I've decided to sign," said Nosworthy. "The crowd here is phenomenal. The fans took to me last season and when there are almost 25,000 people inside Bramall Lane it makes a major difference, there is a real buzz at home matches.

"It's a great place to play football and, combined with Cressy, Morgs and Monty re-signing, it made my mind up that this is the place to be - they committed to the cause which made my decision a lot easier. Add to that the signings of Leon Britton, Daniel Bogdanovic and Simmo, I think we have a great chance.

"I am going to enjoy my football, work really hard for my team-mates and the fans and do my very best to get us promoted."

Nosworthy, 29, is delighted that his Blades deal has been completed and he has already got one eye on extending his stay at S2 beyond the year-long loan.

He adds: "It has been a waiting game this week, but finally everything is sorted and now it is about playing football.

"This move gives me the incentive to prove myself even more to cement my position at both clubs and then we can take it from there. Hopefully this can turn into an extended stay and there is no better way than to have a great season on the pitch that ends by winning promotion - that's the ultimate aim for everyone at the club."
