Kozzy in Lane return

Posted on: Mon 12 Jul 2010

Rob Kozluk has joined the Blades for a second time, completing the details of a one year deal just before the squad left for Malta on Monday evening.

The 32 year old who joined Barnsley in 2007 has been training with United and will provide experience and cover in both full-back positions.

Kozluk made 213 appearances for United in his eight years at the Lane and Kevin Blackwell offered the deal after releasing former Peterborough defender Tom Williams who has been on trial.

"We know all about Kozzy. I have got to bring players in to build a squad and he is only too happy to come back - he will play a role for us," said the United boss.

He added that the Club was still waiting for specialists' reports on loan signing Simon Walton's knee scan after he damaged it at Mansfield at the weekend.

The United tour party trained on Monday afternoon at a rainy Shirecliffe before taking an evening flight to Malta, arriving at their hotel base in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
