Sheffield United's own Tour de France was completed with no casualties and no missing persons!

You can catch a short free video clip to the right, or subscribers can watch the full feature on BladesPlayer.TV

The whole squad and coaching staff hit the Derbyshire hills for two and a half hours of hard pedalling as part of their pre-season work, and organiser and Fitness Consultant reported today:

"No injuries and just two punctures, for Gary Speed and Daniel Bogdanovic, and it was a great fitness and team-building event.

"All the lads made a great effort and we achieved everything we wanted from it. Nick Montgomery and young striker Jack Adams emerged as overall winners, and it really was similar to the Tour de France with all the stages timed."

At one point Boggy was seen throwing his back into the heather after being sent the wrong way on one leg, whilst the eagle-eyed Riddle also let slip an even more controversial and damaging misdemeanour:

"The gaffer and Sam Ellis were seen on their tandem at the start, were never seen again and it is rumoured that they were spotted with a picnic hamper on the Derbyshire hillsides!"

Have a look at the gallery of photographs of the event on this site later this afternoon.
