England football team wins the World Cup! Not in South Africa, but in Oughtibridge.
Pupils from Oughtibridge Primary School took part in a World Cup themed sports day, organised by The United Initiative, Sheffield United's community programme.
Former Blades stars Mark Todd and Adrian Littlejohn were on hand to help out as the kids took each other on in a variety of football skills before everyone was put into international teams to determine a World Cup winner.
Both the infant and junior teams representing England came out on top to win the fun filled event.
Mark, community development manager at Sheffield United, said: "It really was an excellent day, we had some fantastic feedback from the parents and those taking part."
Mark added: "Everyone managed to get a game and, it was great to see the teams representing England bucking the trend of what's been happening on the pitch in South Africa!"
Mrs Munt, headteacher at Oughtibridge Primary School, said: "The football themed Sports Day was a huge success. The Sheffield United coaches ensured every child participated fully throughout the event.
"It is so good to see how committed Sheffield United are in supporting their local schools."
