Cardiff City - beaten finalists in the Championship Play-Off Final last month - lie in wait for United in Wales on the season's opening day on Saturday 7th August.

It's a tough start for the Blades who then take on Neil Warnock's high-spending QPR at the Lane a week later in their own first home fixture, whilst Middlesbrough at the Riverside a week later completes a high-profile opening three games.

The Blades visit promoted Leeds on 25th September and Doncaster Rovers a month later (23rd October), with Oakwell being the destination on 11th December, but there is a big Bramall Lane Boxing Day clash with Hull City, followed by a trip to Norwich on 28th December.

The reverse fixtures at home against Doncaster, Leeds and Barnsley are on 3rd January, 19th March and 30th April respectively, and the season is completed with another journey to Wales, this time at Swansea.
