The signing of an experienced goalkeeper remains the top of Kevin Blackwell's list of priorities.
The sale of Paddy Kenny to QPR and the release of Ian Bennett leaves just Estonian international Mihkel Aksalu as the only professional goalkeeper on United's books.

Media sources have linked United with a number of stoppers this summer with the name of former loan signing Steve Simonsen cropping up numerous times following his successful Bramall Lane spell in March and April.
"I want an experienced number one," states manager Blackwell. "You need an experienced goalkeeper to perform consistently at this level.
"We are looking at a number of goalkeepers, including abroad, but I'm not naming anyone - let the speculation continue."
Blackwell has already added Daniel Bogdanovic, Johnny Ertl and Leon Britton - all proven at Championship level - to his squad and he continues to work tirelessly behind the scenes to boost his numbers.
The United boss adds: "Things are picking up now, we are gradually getting players in, despite frustration from fans, who were getting impatient for positive news.
"I kept quiet early in the summer because I know how important this process is. It would have been pointless getting involved in speculation, I just want to get the players in before talking about them publicly."
