Blades bring in Connolly

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

United have made an emergency loan signing in time for Tuesday evening's encounter with Blackpool.

Kevin Blackwell has brought in Derby defender Paul Connolly on a 28-day loan and he goes straight into the squad for the Championship clash with Ian Holloway's side.

The 26-year-old right-back has been out of favour at Pride Park recently but is a former captain of the Rams. He made his name at Plymouth Argyle, where he clocked up over 170 appearances.

Captain Chris Morgan is suspended for the fixtures against Blackpool and Doncaster Rovers for picking up his 10th booking of the season against QPR at the weekend.

Connolly will wear United's number 31 shirt.
