Fulham's Toni Kallio has joined the Blades on loan until the end of the season.

Finnish International defender Kallio, 31 played for United in the win at Plymouth and the draw at QPR in a loan spell before Christmas, and Kevin Blackwell was foiled in a subsequent bid to extend that:

"We got him agreed on Christmas Eve but then he was recalled straight away because Fulham had injuries and a lot of games coming up in January.

"But Roy Hodgson promised he would look at it again and, true to his word, he has. Toni did very well for us and I'm glad that this move is done and we have him until the end of the season.

"He has played in the Premiership recently, ticks all the boxes and, importantly, knows our place and players so he doesn't have to start to get to know the place."
