The Blades have given Kyel Reid the green light to join Charlton Athletic.

The winger, 23, has signed for the Addicks after being handed a free transfer. United have negotiated a healthy sell on clause.

Reid joined the Blades a year ago for free but struggled to cement a regular place in Kevin Blackwell's plans.

The was loaned to Charlton in January and made 17 appearances as they reached the League One play-offs.

The Londoners failed to return to the Championship, but Reid impressed sufficiently for the club to return for his services.
