Sean Bean inducted into Walk of Fame

Posted on: Tue 19 Jan 2010

Unitedite Sean Bean has been inducted into Sheffield's prestigious Walk of Fame.

Sean formally became a Sheffield Legend and joined internationally-renown celebrities including Michael Palin, Seb Coe, Gordon Banks, Joe Cocker, Michael Vaughan, Derek Dooley and Def Leppard, who were all either born in or had strong associations with the city.

Sean was born in the Handsworth area of Sheffield in April 1959 and has gone on to be internationally known for a number of roles, including Sharpe, The Lord of the Rings, GoldenEye and, of course, When Saturday Comes.

Sheffield's Lord Mayor, Cllr Graham Oxley said: "Sean has been a true ambassador for Sheffield and a lifelong supporter of the Blades.

"His popularity was highlighted by the people of Sheffield who nominated him to be one of the original Legends and it's great to welcome him back to the city to unveil his plaque."
