Cotterill departs

Posted on: Tue 24 Nov 2009

United have confirmed that the paperwork concerning David Cotterill's loan move to Swansea City has been completed.

The winger has returned to his native Wales on a temporary basis until January and is expected to be part of Swansea's squad for next weekend's encounter with Newcastle.

He watched the Swans beat Derby County on Friday night and met his new teammates, which include former Blades loanees Nathan Dyer and Craig Beattie, on Monday as the deal was being finalised.

"We'd like to wish him well for the future and thank him for what he has done during his time at Bramall Lane. He's gone back to Wales, which was important to him," said Blades boss Kevin Blackwell.

Cotterill, 21, made over 50 appearances in United colours, scoring six times in the process, with five of those coming from the penalty spot.
