Welsh action for Bladesmen

Posted on: Mon 16 Nov 2009

United's Welsh duo Ched Evans and David Cotterill were both in action over the weekend as John Toshack's men inflicted a potentially devastating 3-0 defeat on George Burley's Scotland at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Evans started the game in attack alongside Reading's Simon Church, before being replaced at half-time by Nottingham Forest striker Robert Earnshaw.

Cotterill, on the other hand, was a late substitute after coming open for David Edwards, who had opened the scoring for the Welsh.

Meanwhile, Kyle Walker wasn't included in England's U21s matchday squad for their 1-0 success over Portugal in a 2011 UEFA European Championship qualifier at Wembley, following his late call-up.

Fellow Academy graduate Kyle Naughton, now at Tottenham, came on as a late replacement for Michael Mancienne as the young Three Lions turn their attentions to Tuesday fixture in Lithuania.
