Call-ups for associated Blades

Posted on: Wed 23 Sep 2009

Three players from United's sister clubs have been selected to play in the FIFA U20s World Cup, which starts on 24th September.

Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne is part of the Australian squad to travel to Egypt for the prestigious tournament, whilst Ferencvaros duo Bence Toth and Balasz Megyeri have been called up by Hungary.

Blades loan defender Kyle Walker was expected to be part of the England team for the tournament but was withdrawn by Kevin Blackwell, with the blessing of Tottenham boss, Harry Redknapp.

The event will run from 24th September until 16th October and features 24 of the world's top U20s teams, which include holders Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain and Italy.
