International round-up

Posted on: Mon 07 Sep 2009

It was a quiet weekend for United's international quintet, with only Ched Evans and Justin Haber playing for their respective countries.

Evans was a second-half substitute for Wales U21's in their impressive 2-1 victory over their Italian counterparts - with Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey scoring the winner.

The striker, along with David Cotterill, are both in John Toshack's senior squad for Wednesday's qualifier against Russia at the Millennium Stadium.

Jamie Ward was an unused replacement as Northern Ireland drew 1-1 against Poland, whilst Justin Haber played the second-half of Malta's 2-0 friendly loss against Cape Verde - keeping a clean sheet in the process.
