McIndoe deal fallen through

Posted on: Wed 15 Jul 2009

United will not be signing Bristol City winger Michael McIndoe despite City believing that the deal would go ahead.

The two clubs had agreed a fee but Kevin Blackwell confirmed last night that the move had fallen though:

"It looks that way but now we have Kyel Reid already signed and Julian Gray on trial and looking useful, so the situation is not as bad as it was - and last season we virtually had nothing down the left."

That still leaves the United boss waiting on the outcome of other bids to sign Ched Evans and Tommy Smith but he refuses to comment on their progress:

"I have been hopeful for quite a while on those but I have to hold my nerve - I could sign loads of players but in my view they would not be right for us."
