The Kyles get International cameos

Posted on: Wed 11 Feb 2009

Home-grown Academy stars Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker both played for England in different age groups on Tuesday evening, although the duo were both on the losing side.

Naughton replaced Wigan's Lee Cattermole in the 76th minute, in the U21's 3-2 defeat against an Ecuador XI in Malaga.

Adam Johnson and Fraizer Campbell had given the Lions a 2-0 half-time lead, but two goals in two second-half minutes and another from Manchester City's Felipe Caicedo saw the Ecuadorians complete the turnaround.

Meanwhile, Walker played a twenty minute cameo after coming on for Kieran Trippier in the U19's 3-0 loss against Spain at Bournemouth's Dean Court stadium.
