Extra game for Sun

Posted on: Fri 26 Sep 2008

The FA Appeals Committee has handed Sun Jihai a further one match suspension to the three he incurred for his red card against Coventry City earlier this month.

The Chinese International accepted guilt for his red card offence - a challenge on Michael Mifsud - but appealed against the extra charge of misconduct.

He initially left the pitch but returned to make his way across to the tunnel instead of continuing round the perimeter, and the Committee took into account his previous good record of only three bookings in the previous six seasons.

Having sat out the fixtures with Norwich and Arsenal, Sun now misses the games against Watford and Doncaster Rovers before becoming available for the visit of Bristol City tomorrow week.
