The Blades have confirmed that striker Rob Hulse has completed his switch to Derby County in a deal which could be worth up to £1.75 million.
Hulse signed for Paul Jewell's outfit on a three-year deal, upon completing his medical and agreeing personal terms at Pride Park.
Blades boss Kevin Blackwell said: "Rob is a decent lad, and we would like to wish him all the best. He will have a better chance of playing first-team regularly at Derby."
After beginning his career with his hometown club, Crewe Alexandra, Hulse went on to score 47 goals in all competitions for the Railwaymen, before moving to WBA for £750,000 - where he played under former United boss Bryan Robson.
Limited opportunities at The Hawthorns saw him depart the Midlands to sign for Leeds in 2005. At Elland Road he was prolific in front of goal, scoring 20 times in 51 starts for the Whites.
On the eve of United's Premiership return in 2006, Hulse penned a three-year deal at the Lane, with Neil Warnock paying just over £2 million for his services.
He made an instant impression with the Bramall Lane faithful, finishing the Club's top scorer with eight goals, in a season which was prematurely ended by an horrific broken leg sustained at Stamford Bridge in March 2007.
After making a full recovery, the Cheshire born striker made his eagerly awaited comeback against Cardiff City at Ninian Park in December 2007.
