Cresswell moves on

Posted on: Fri 11 Jul 2008

Blades Academy product Ryan Cresswell has joined League Two outfit Bury FC on a free transfer deal.

Cresswell has been offered a two year deal by Alan Knill which he has accepted after looking set to play for Ferencvaros, although the Blades have insisted on a 50% sell on-clause on any future move.

The Rotherham born defender enjoyed successful loan spells last season with the Millers, Morecambe and Macclesfield Town, making over twenty appearances in total.

Cresswell, 20, arrives at Gigg Lane where he will link up with former Blade Chris Wilder, who managed the defender during a loan stint at Halifax Town in 2007, and is now number two to Knill.
