Sheffield United has stepped in to show support to a non-league cousin.
Worksop Town Football Club are currently experiencing difficulties and have put in place a scheme where local businesses and fans buy a season ticket for their forthcoming Unibond League campaign.
They have currently sold more than 150 season tickets - including two purchased by the Blades to boost their coffers.
A dispute over the lease of their Sandy Lane home - which has played host to United's reserve team for the past two seasons - has forced Worksop Town to seek an alternative venue for their home games in the 2008/09 campaign and they have been assisted by Hucknall Town.
Playing home games outside of the town has put 'The Tigers' in a difficult position and they are currently in the midst of raising finances to continue. Their squad includes a number of former Blades youngsters, including Ryan Ludlam, Leigh Walker, Paul Dempsey and Kevin Davies.
"It is currently a difficult time for Worksop Town and we are delighted that we can help them in a small way in their hour of need," said Blades Director, Terry Robinson.
"They are local non-league club and over the past few years we have built a tremendous relationship with them. We hope that their problems are resolved as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, United's reserve team will play Central League fixtures at Sheffield FC's Bright Finance Stadium in Dronfield in the 2008/09 campaign.
