Just two seniors released

Geoff Horsfield and Paul Gerrard have been told that they can leave Bramall Lane when their contracts expire this summer.

They are the only two senior players Kevin Blackwell is prepared to release as he contemplates building a squad to challenge for honours next season

Striker Horsfield has been on loan at Scunthorpe United, whilst goalkeeper Gerrard was sidelined with injury when he was on loan at Blackpool also hoping to get games under his belt.

Young professionals also released are James Ashmore, Martin Donnelly, Stephen Hernandez, Lloyd Kerry and Dean Oliver, all of whom have had loan experience at other clubs.

Youngsters Adam Chapman and Kyle Walker have been given pro contracts, whilst Ryan Cresswell and Liban Abdi have been offered a further year's terms.
