Curtis triumphs again

Posted on: Mon 19 May 2008

Curtis Woodhouse remains on course for a crack at welterweight honours after preserving his unbeaten start in professional boxing at Bramall Lane over the weekend.

The ex Blades midfielder has now had six fights in boxing's welterweight division and Manchester's Dave Murray went the same way as the previous five opponents.

In United's Platinum Suite, Woodhouse took just two rounds to stop Murray, who was sent to the canvas before the referee intervened.

Woodhouse, who is hoping to stake a claim for a shot at the British welterweight title in the not too distant future, is likely to return to action next month on the undercard of the Amir Khan v Michael Gomez bill in Birmingham.
