James Beattie has been voted SUFC Supporters Club Player of the Year in his first season at the Club.

The 22 goal striker picked up votes consistently throughout the campaign, ending with the defeat at Preston which was before Beattie netted a hat-trick and went on to find the net in five successive matches.

Although a prior arrangement for a large charity event prevented Beattie from receiving the award at the dinner in the Platinum Suite - Kevin Blackwell stood in - he will be presented with it on Saturday when Bristol City are the visitors.

Derek Geary and Matt Kilgallon capped their own seasons with a joint runners-up award, whilst Billy Sharp carried off the Young Player of the Year trophy.
