Blades boss Bryan Robson admits the current international break has been 'frustrating' after seeing two of his in-form players travel to Australia and Jamaica for qualifiers this week.
Luton Shelton and David Carney have both been involved for their respective countries, but Robson insists he would rather the duo be working hard on the Shirecliffe training pitch:
"It's frustrating when you lose two players who have scored at the weekend, and who are playing well overall, to international duty.
"It means that we do not have time to spend with them working on the training ground.
"It's not just the matches though, it's the long flights and all the extra travelling the pair will have had to do.
"I want what's best for the club, but I can understand the players' desire to represent their countries, although at this very important stage in the season it is something we could have done without."
The manager then praised the pair for their contributions in recent weeks, and feels the more adventurous approach in their performances is the key behind the success:
"Luton is quick and unpredictable, but he gives you great pace and you can see the confidence within him after scoring a couple of goals.
"It's pretty much the same scenario for David Carney and after urging him to be more audacious from the wing."
