Matt Kilgallon , Nick Montgomery and Michael Tonge came in for special praise from their boss after a creditable all-round team performance on Saturday.

Bryan Robson watched Matt Kilgallon find the net with a header for the vital goal in the second-half and said:

"Matt was on a high afterwards which is to be expected after his first goal for us, especially having had a good one disallowed the previous week.

"I thought we had some good set-pieces and it was pleasing because they were the last thing we practised on Friday. It was just a question during the game of keeping the quality of crosses up and timing our runs properly - it paid off in the end."

And Robson thought his two midfielders epitomised the spirit and energy that his team used to good effect in setting up the win:

"Monty and Tongey were right up for the challenge with it being a Yorkshire derby and I thought they were both terrific.

"Nick can do that sort of performance, he just lost a bit of edge this season because of all the injury setbacks he has suffered. We shouldn't forget how well he did over the last two seasons, and now he is looking to get that sharpness back into his game.
